These batteries offer several advantages such as longer life, less preventive maintenance, faster recharging, reduced terminal corrosion, greater overcharge maintenance and longer shelf life. However, these batteries are more prone to deep discharge failures due to increased shedding of active plate material. In hot climates, it is recommended to buy non-sealed batteries because, you can add water when required which is not possible in sealed batteries.

One more type of battery is there these days; it is dual type battery which has features of a combined battery also. It has switchable emergency cells. However, people buy two batteries and Keep them isolated. With growing technology, more expensive batteries will be available in future.

Car batteries are manufactured according to the international standards. They are based upon the physical case size, terminal polarity and terminal placement.
